Councilor Ted Jack
Teddy was born in Burns Lake and was raised on his family home on Cheslatta IR#6. He grew up hunting, fishing and trapping with his parents and grandparents and developed a keen sense of nature and the land.
Ted is the son of Casimel Jack and Mabel Skin. His grandparents are Tommy and Lottie (Louie), and Johnny and Mary (Morris) Skin. He is the great grandson of Chief Louie.
As soon as he finished school in 1977, Ted entered the logging industry his long-standing career has made him a major asset to Cheslatta’s portfolios. He was a key member of the Cheslatta Team that successfully concluded the Cheslatta/BC Reconciliation Agreement in 2019 and the Cheslatta/Rio Tinto “New Day” Agreement in 2020. Ted also sits on the Board of Directors for Burns Lake Native Development Corporation, the Nechako Reservoir Stewardship Program, the NeToo Project Table and is also instrumental in the moving forward of the Lands Working Group with the Province of BC.
Ted and his wife Bonnie own their own house and property south of Burns Lake where they raised their daughter Jessi. Ted enjoys the outdoors and spends a great deal of time with his family camping, fishing, hunting and extreme snowmobiling.
